Stomp! 2018 Chardonnay
Lovedale, Hunter Valley
The fruit for this wine was picked in February 2018 and fermented in stainless steel tanks until 4 Baume, then transferred to barrel for completion of ferment and maturation. French and American oak hogsheads were used with fortnightly lees stirring. After 8 months maturation in oak, the finished wine was bottled in November 2018.
Being the youngest of our Chardonnay's this one has fresh, enticing citrus and stone fruit characters followed by a nutty, complex finish. With age it will develop more creaminess, butter and caramel characteristics.
An ideal accompaniment to pork, chicken, seafood, creamy pasta dishes or soft creamy cheeses.
